The Kingdom Series & The Knights of Arrethtrae.
The Kingdom Series &
The Knights of Arrethtrae.
All great stories start from somewhere and many times when the author wants to show growth, honor, and courage the best way to do so is to start with someone small with a great purpose.
Kingdoms Dawn starts with a farmer's boy, his name Leinad. Raised in a farm and trained in the sword he questions why his father trains him with the blade even though they live on the edge of a peaceful city. But shortly after Leinad's 16th birthday disaster strikes, a small army comes to Leinad's home when he is hunting in the nearby forest, and they slay Peyton, (Leinad's father) and then set the house ablaze. soon Leinad is found by his father's friend Gabrik who gives him The Sword of Promise and tells him to warn the city about a deadly swarm of vactors (which are small bugs that are faster than horses and will tear apart anything in their path). Leinad rushes to the city ringing the bell and trying to warn the people, but he is dismissed as a festival is currently in progress, and no one wishes to flee their warm homes just because of the warnings of some farmer boy. Leinad then flees the town with Tess, a servant girl that Peyton bought and freed from a harsh master, on their way across the Tara Hills Mountain range which gives them a wide view of the area they used to live in and how the entire valley is now covered in vactors leaving no life behind. starving and dehydrated they meet a Stranger who gives them food water and a message from The King. He tells them to travel to the valley of Nan where they will find a new home. They find a farm that Leinad works as a helping hand for a couple of days before getting sold into slavery to Lord Fairos. Because Lord Fairos is always looking for new soldiers Leinad's mastery of the sword impresses him and promotes him to training the guards of his castle. After Fairos enslaves the people of Nan Leinad refuses to train Fairos' men further and gets demoted to less than a slave till he eventually gets put in the desert for a long and painful death by Moshi beasts.
Kingdom's Hope begins with Leinad dying of thirst hunger and Moshi bites, but he is saved by The King the ruler of Arrethtrae who heals and train Leinad to becoming a Knight the likes of which no one has ever seen before he teaches him The Code, and commands him to go forth and free the people from the slavery of Fairos. After freeing the people, he brings a group east to a valley which he names The City of Chessington teaching the people to follow The Code and training an order of knights named the Noble Knights to protect the people of Chessington.
Kingdom's edge tells the story of how The Prince travels to Chessington to raise an army to fight Lucius' army but is rejected by the Noble Knights and instead raises the people to arms so that Chessington will not fall to the powers of the Dark Knight's forces.
After book 3 (Kingdoms Edge) The Knights of Arrethtrae series begins with tales of mighty knights in service to The King, The Prince, and The Code traveling around brining aid to the oppressed people of the continent who are in dire need of help after the forces of The Dark Knight Lucius have sown terror and corruption across the land raising evil forces to power so that no mortal can hope to face them alone
Book 4&5 (Kingdom's Call & Kingdom's Quest) are tales of the Knight known as Sir Gavinaugh.
Book 6 Kingdom's Reign ends the series with a banquet celebrating The Prince's victory over the Dark Knight Lucius and tells of how even though the continent has peace like never before men will always find a way to break the peace and invite evil back into their lives. culminating to one final vactor purge that ends the forces of the Dark Knight for good.
Very informational summary of the series, I like how you were able to make words stand out in different print.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great story to read, I will surely keep this in my mind for the future! You do a great deal of explanation, a better way to intrigue the reader.
